On October 4th Canadian pop-punk band Simple Plan kicked off their
first headlining tour in the US since 2011.  The tour is in support of
their highly anticipated 5th studio album Taking One For The Team,
which came out earlier this year.  Following the announcement of
their next single "Perfectly Perfect", the band debuted it at the Santa
Ana date of the tour. The single had not been played at any show
prior to this and was not played in Los Angeles or Sacramento.  At
9pm the band took the stage and explode into the energetic opening
track from the new album called “Opinion Overload” and the fans
went insane.  The sold out crowds screamed out every word along
with the band for the entire set. They played all the crowd favourites
“I’d Do Anything”, “Addicted”, “Jump”, “Crazy”, “Welcome To My Life”,
“Jet Lag” and “Sumer Paradise” as well as new singles “Boom!” and
“Singing In The Rain”.

The encore consisted of “Shut Up”, “Perfect World”, “Untitled” and
“Perfect” with them alternating “Untitled” with “This Song Saved My
Life” every other night.  As usual “Perfect” starts out with frontman
Pierre performing it acoustically before the rest of the band joins him
on the stage for the finale. Fans are in for a real treat with the US
leg of the tour which contains a nice mix of classic Simple Plan tunes
as well as tracks off the new album. The band surprised fans by
playing "What's New Scooby Doo?" during the set, a song that has
been rarely played in the past. The band and fans feed off each
other’s energy from beginning to end of every set. New and old fans
alike were rocking out the entire show. Simple Plan bring it every
single time and never let their fans down with their live
performances.
