Simple Plan and State Champs
with We The Kings
Where I Belong Tour

Rapids Theatre in Niagara Falls, New York
November 02, 2019

After taking some time off from touring to work on their highly
anticipated upcoming release, Simple Plan have returned for a month
long tour with State Champs. Bassist David Desrosiers also has
returned to the road with the band after a two year hiatus and fans
could not be more thrilled to have the entire lineup back!  Before hitting
the road the band along with State Champs and We The Kings
released a new single titled "Where I Belong" and decided to name the
tour after the song.  We The Kings have also joined both the bands for
the tour making it a killer lineup of great pop-punk bands!

On November 2nd fans from many cities in the northeast including
Canada lined up in the freezing cold outside the Rapids Theatre in
Niagara Falls, New York to attend a nearly sold out show for their
favourite bands. We The Kings kicked off their set at 7:00pm with their
hit "Skyway Avenue" and fans went nuts! The band played fan favourites
such as "Say You Like Me", "Sad Song" and "She Takes Me High"
during their set. During "I Feel Alive", front man Travis Clark had the
crowd get down low then during the chorus everyone had to jump up
and start dancing with the band.  Near the end of the set they played an
amazing cover of Jimmy Eat World's hit single "The Middle" before
wrapping up with "Check Yes Juliet" from their 2007 self titled debut
album.

A short while later pop-punk band State Champs, hailing from Albany,
New York took the stage and went straight into "Mine Is Gold" and "All
You Are Is History".  Fans got crazy with crowd surfing and being hurled
over the barricade but the vibe was great during their set and everyone
had fun rocking out to them! Some of the songs included in their set
included singles "All You Are Is History", "Frozen", "Remedy" and crowd
pleaser "Criminal".

At 9:30pm the lights go dark and you hear that familiar sound of the
siren and seeing the red flashing lights as one by one the members of
Simple Plan walk out onto the stage.  Front-man Pierre Bouvier asks
the crowd "what's up everyone?" as the band starts "I'd Do Anything"
and the crowd starts jumping around belting out the lyrics along with
the band! The set was a perfect mix of classics like "Shut Up" and
"Addicted" as well as newer hits like "Summer Paradise", "Boom!" and
"Can't Keep My Hands Off You". Fans kept screaming for the band to
play "What's New Scooby Doo?" and the band obliged. Pierre said they
were known as the Scooby Doo band and the band that got away with
saying "dick" on the radio with their song "Addicted", which they played
next. Derek DiScanio of State Champs came out to join Simple Plan on
stage to perform "Where I Belong" and halfway through the song We
The Kings' Travis Clark came out to sing his part. The new single has
been very well received by fans across the country and they already
know every single word to the song. Everyone left the stage for a few
minutes before Simple Plan returned to finish up with an encore which
included "Shut Up", I'm Just A Kid" and "Perfect". During "I'm Just A Kid"
vocalist Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau trade places
before Chuck dove off the stage and crowd surfed for the remainder of
the song. To wrap up Pierre begins by performing "Perfect" acoustically
while singing to a sea of phones lit up before the rest of the band
rejoins him.  The band thank everyone for coming out while tossing
guitar picks and drum sticks into the crowd and waving as they depart
the stage.

All three bands put on very powerful and energetic sets and the crowd
had an absolute blast.  This is definitely one of the best tours of the fall
season and it is worth attending if they are coming to a city near you!
