Hootenanny 2012
Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado, CA

This year's Hootenanny started off slow around noon at Oak Canyon Ranch but the crowd began picking up around
2:30. The festival was full of booths to fulfill all your punk rock, rockabilly and pin-up needs.  There were also booths
for Gretsch guitars, tattoo shops, Johnny's Rock & Roll Saloon and even a barber shop called Hawleywood.  2012
marks the 20 year anniversary of punk rock legends Rancid who happen to be headlining the show.  Other notable acts
include Jonny Two Bags (of Social Distortion), Bouncing Souls, Rev. Horton Heat, The Wreckin' Katz, Goddamn Gallows
and Supersuckers to name a few.  Another act worth mentioning was Roger Alan Wade, although his set was acoustic
it was quite entertaining.  There are two main stages alternating set times and a side stage.  There are other
attractions at this show besides the bands including a car show, Miss Hoot Contest and Gretsch guitar giveaways. The
festival began in 2002 and has been growing strong ever since.  Definitely a show worth checking out if you live in
Southern California or are willing to travel.
