Bleed The Dream interview by: Maureen Benedict You got signed to Warcon not too long ago, how did this come about?
Keith Thompson (bass/vocals): Well, it's funny because the same guy that kicked us off his tour (Kevin Lyman) in '03 was the
same guy that signed us two years later. I think he noticed our DIY attitude and hard work. He is a huge fan of our acoustic
stuff as well.

BS: Your cd Built By Blood, just came out recently what was your favorite song to record & why?
Keith: Hmmm that is a tough one. I think I would have to say "Emotion Regression". I sing a lot in that one and me being a
fan of the darker side of things, look at that song as a haven. Something about it makes me warm.

BS: What was the first song you wrote as a band?
Keith: "Be There" was written as a three piece, Dave, Scott and myself.

BS: What was the hardest part about making your cd?
Keith: Well, my best friend and brother was dying in front of me.

BS: You grew up in Baltimore, how is the music scene different there than it is in Los Angeles?
Keith: Well Baltimore is more about blood. LA is more about getting signed and becoming a rock star. A lot of bands in
Baltimore have been together forever with the same members. That is unheard of in Hollywood unless there is success.

BS: What bands influence your song writing?
Keith: When we go in the studio to record a record, we usually shut off the world of outside music. We influence each other.

BS: You were on Warped Tour three years in a row but this year you did the entire tour, how was it?
Keith: It was loooooooong! That has to be the most tiring tour ever, but never the less we took advantage of the oportunity.
Plus we had a bus this year, which totally rocked!

BS: Earlier this year you were on Taste Of Chaos, what was that like?
Keith: It was really awesome. We played the acoustic stage. Half way through the tour the acoustic stage was on the side of the
main stage so some nights we would play for eight to fifteen thousand people so that doesn't suck at all.

BS: When you are on tour what is a typical day for you?
Keith: It's never typical really. Everyday changes. The only similar things are playing, eating, drinking, jerking off. You know
the essentials. haha

BS: What is your dream tour?
Keith: To see or be on?
BS: Be on.
Keith: Hmmm how many bands?
BS: As many as you want.
Keith: You can't say that! Like a 5 band bill.
BS: Ok!
Keith: Ok. Depeche Mode headlining. The Cure, Danzig, Ours and us. haha

BS: Are there any embarrassing moments on tour or funny stories you would like to share?
Keith: It's too early and I'm too stoned to remember.

BS: What do you do when you are not on tour?
Keith: Write music, party in Hollywood, shop, party, take in movies, party.

BS: Do you ever play any pranks on the bands you tour with? Would you like to share any of them?
Keith: I'm too lazy for pranks.

BS: What was the last cd you bought?
Keith: Archive. UK chill Pink Floyd meets Radiohead record. Love it!

BS: What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Keith: Read my book in ten years. haha no really. That is an impossible question to answer.

BS: What was the worst job you ever had?
Keith: Wendy's. Lasted one day. I wanted to deep fry the managers face.

BS: If you were a porn star what would your name be?
Keith: Dallas Woodward

BS: If you were invisible for a day where would you go & what would you do?
Keith: Wow. Um I would do my share of snooping around that is for sure. I'd go to this wing place near my house, go in the
kitchen and see what the fuck they put in their wing sauce! Haha

BS: Do you have any questions for me?
Keith: What are your three favorite Bleed songs and why?
BS: hmm..."Solace" because that was one of the first songs I heard. And "Black Sky's" because I like the lyrics. And I really like
"Streets Of Baltimore" too, I like acoustic stuff a lot.
