Name: Dani Knight
Location: Lomita, CA
Tell everyone a little bit about yourself! I consider myself to be both
a melancholic and an optimist. I like having the balance of both. I have a
pet cat named Phoebe and I love her to death. I am obsessed with cats.
One of my favorite things to do nowadays is going out and seeing and
supporting local and/or touring bands and discovering new music. I love
movies. My favorite movies to watch are avant-garde and artsy. I like
movies that get people thinking. I am pretty shy, but once you get to
know me, I can be a very bubbly and hyper, and easy going person.
How long have you been with BurningStars.net: Joined the team in
What do you do for BurningStars.net: Take photos, write music
What got you into Photography? I've always been interested in it. I
don't remember when I decided to start studying and practicing
photography, but i've only been at this for almost a year now. I take
nature and street photography and sometimes I arrange photoshoots
with my friends, but lately, I've been practicing taking pictures of live
bands, using my best friend's two bands as a starting point.
What do you like doing the most; photographing bands,
interviewing bands or writing about the shows? I like writing
reviews, but I mostly enjoy photographing bands.
What type of camera do you use? I use a Nikon Coolpix L840. I plan
however to get a new camera hopefully in the next couple of months.
What Program do you use to edit your photos? Sometimes I use
Photoshop or Lightroom. I use Paint to add on my watermarks.
What is your most favourite concert experience? October 2014
when I finally got to see Placebo for the first time ever in my life. I took
my best friend at the time with me and weeks before the concert, I gave
her a mix CD of all of Placebo's hits and current songs and when the
night of the concert came around, she had pretty much all the lyrics
memorized right off the bat. We saw the opening act The Moth & The
Flame for the first time and we fell in love with them instantly. Finally,
when it came time for Placebo to take the stage, my legs were trembling.
I couldn't believe my hero of five years, Brian Molko was gonna be right
in front of me as well as Stefan Olsdal and the rest of the gang. It felt
like a dream come true and I was enthralled by how energetic and
enthusiastic they were on stage. I spend every once in a while wishing I
could relive that night again.
Favourite Bands: Placebo, Evanescence, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out
Boy, Linkin Park, Barb Wire Dolls, Korn, The Smashing Pumpkins, The
Cranberries, Incubus, Deftones, A Day To Remember, Sonic Youth,
Silversun Pickups, Marilyn Manson, Paramore, The National, The Moth &
The Flame, September Mourning, Fallen Suns, Aeonic Impulse and Dry
Humor (the last two are bands my friend is in).
