BurningStars.net: On your new album Making The Grade did you do anything different than you did on Injury
Loves Melody
Tomas Costanza: We did everything different. From pre-production to recording the CD. Our producer Mark Trombino
had a huge influence on our sound.

BS: How would you describe your music to someone who has not heard it before?
Tomas: I would say our music is plain old rock.

BS: What bands influence your song writing?
Tomas: Mostly indie bands like Chavez, SunnydayRealEstate, Sonic Youth, Jawbox and Unwound.

BS: How do you go about song writing, do you write the lyrics or the music first?
Tomas: Well, we all write individually, so I can speak for myself when I say they definitely came from just everyday
experiences, songs are just ways to express your moods, feelings, and ideas you cant express in any other form.

BS: How do you go about song writing, do you write the lyrics or the music first?
Tomas: Always write the music first to create a vibe for the lyrical content

BS: How was it touring with Simple Plan, Gob and Madcap?
Tomas: The best tour we've ever done!
Peter: Awesome! We made a lot of friends. I've been a Gob fan for a long time so that was awesome being able to play with
them and hang out.

BS: Any embarrassing moments during the tour? Any funny tour stories you would like to share?
Tomas: No comment!
Peter: We have too many. They usually involve Dan getting naked, Tony dancing, Tomas falling down drunk, and me
throwing up.

BS: If you could tour with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Tomas: I would say U2 or Metallica. They are everything that inspires me.
Peter: Saves The Day, Alkaline Trio, Brand New.

BS: Best and worst things about touring?
Tomas: The best things are meeting new people and seeing the country. The worst thing is the actual traveling.
Peter: Getting skinny from not eating (Best) getting skinny from eating shit (worse). Seriously though the best thing is that I
get to travel around the country with my best friends and meet amazing people and play music. The worst thing is that I
leave my girlfriend and miss that hell out of her every second of the day!

BS: What are your favourite songs to play live?
Tomas: "A New High" and "Karma".
Peter: "Nothing Left to Say" and "Karma".

BS: Have any strange fan encounters?
Tomas: Yes, these two fans Maureen and Carrie are total stalkers!
Peter: Yeah sometimes they ask for our clothes that we are wearing. I just want to ask them if they really thought when they
walked over to me that I was going to actually take off my shirt and give it to them? NOOOOOOOOO!

BS: What are the best gifts you have received from a fan?
Tomas: A wristband, brownies and a pair of sneakers (I'm a size 8 1/2).
Peter: The best thing a fan can give is to come up to us and let us know their honest opinion about us.

BS: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Tomas: I have none.
Peter: Not much. I like to just hang out with my friends and my family, BBQ and go out for some drinks.

BS: What is the scariest thing you have ever done?
Tomas: Jumped out of a plane into the ocean.
Peter: Well the scariest thing that has ever happened to me is some asshole ran a red light and almost killed me. If I didn't
have my seat belt on I’d be dead. So buckle up!

BS: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
Tomas: My height because I'm short.
Peter: I wish I had more patience with people.

BS: What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Tomas: My strengths are mostly my leadership skills. My weaknesses are my leadership skills.
Peter: Strengths are that I believe in people, I work my ass off for what I want and for what I have, and I'm a loyal person.
Weaknesses don't get me pissed off!

BS: If you were a porn star what would your name be?
Tomas: Hickory Spike.
Peter: Johnny Rocket.

BS: What is your favourite fruit?
Tomas: Red Wine.
Peter: Pineapple.

BS: What is in your cd player right now?
Tomas: AFI, Metallica and The Used.
Peter: AFI, Brand New, All American Rejects, Alkaline Trio

BS: What was the first concert you attended?
Tomas: Accept and Iron Maiden.
Peter: Bad Religion, Green Day, Seaweed at the Roseland Ballroom NYC

BS: What was the first band you started listening to?
Tomas: Black Sabbath.
Peter: Bad Religion and Quicksand.

BS: If you were invisible for a day, where would you go and what would you do?
Tomas: I would go to Pamela Anderson’s house and watch her take a shower.
Peter: Shit I'd see all the naked girls I could!

BS: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Tomas: Never really thought about it.
Peter: Married and living in LA.

BS: Do you have any questions you would like to ask me?
Tomas: Have you ever had a one-night stand?
Peter: What kind of cheese do you like? What’s your favourite position?
